I had an amazing conversation with an old friend yesterday. You know, the kind of friend that fills your cup and the hours fly by like you just walked in the door. Some people have the ability to really challenge you. Hold on to those people, they make you a greater you.
Over the years people change, but she hasn’t. She’s deeply rooted in the fact that there is always more self-growth to achieve and never another person to impress while doing so. We talked for hours about life, relationships, and committing to finish the creative outlets that we start.
We’ve determined that giving more of yourself to others will always be the secret to a lasting relationship, a marriage or a friendship. Always, always give rather than seek, look for less approval from others and stay genuine. And don’t forget to live life a little on the edge too, that doesn’t hurt.
I am telling you, it is always a delight to see your friends growing and thriving. And I mean really thriving. Making monumental choices, aspiring to great things, and still deep down humble in every way possible. I share this because celebrating our people, the humans that we choose, is so important.
She gave me a swift kick to be mindful that staying creative is valuable. It has been almost a year since I have put things into words; that isn’t to say that I don’t have topics to write about, I simply haven’t taken the time to be intentional.
So here’s to a creative intention. You may not love the wilderness as much as I do however, it is time for me to start packing for the next season in Alaska. I will have much to share about our developing property, potential cabin build, and the moose that roam the great white north.
